Alix Hunter is an Australian painter based in Naarm/Melbourne.

Her paintings investigate the relationship between object, light and emotion. She constructs arrangements, working from life from a perspective of observational realism. 

Hunter is interested in the act of looking. She is curious about light, tonality, density of form and texture. The way light describes a surface, the spatial presence of the object and the slippage around what is seen, what is perceived and what is remembered.
