About
Alix Hunter is an Australian artist based in Naarm/Melbourne.
Hunter works predominantly in oil paint, exploring light, colour harmony and composition in domestic vignettes of everyday life. The palette is muted, detail is edited, shape and tonality are the focus. The work celebrates simplicity, minimalism and space.
Hunter paints what is found and what she feels connection to but her enthusiasm lies equally in the paint and its materiality.
